Across the country, acute care hospitals have piloted virtual nursing to address clinical workforce challenges, including RN burnout, turnover, and over-reliance on contract labor, with varying degrees of positive results. Now, a growing number of organizations are exploring options for leveraging virtual nursing to impact inpatient capacity constraints and decrease LOS to impact margin challenges.  Scaling virtual nursing across the enterprise is key to achieving a multi-pronged return on investment.
