  1. Understand the critical role of cancer registries in public health and research and recognize the limitations of traditional manual data abstraction workflows—including challenges related to staffing, financial constraints, and data quality amid rising case volumes.
  2. Explore the application of AI technologies—such as LLMs and RAG—to automate the abstraction of unstructured clinical data from EMRs into cancer registries, achieving high throughput and acceptable accuracy.
