Description
Access to cancer treatment can be a significant challenge for many patients, especially those facing transportation barriers. In this fireside panel, leaders from four healthcare organizations will share how they are tackling this critical issue head-on.
Attendees will hear from:
- Community Health, which has implemented a non-profit rideshare program and new EHR tracking to support patients.
- Grady Health System in Atlanta, which utilizes a fleet of vans, rideshare services, and vouchers to serve its transportation-disadvantaged population.
- Intermountain Health - St. James, whose navigator program coordinates travel arrangements for patients traveling long distances to their Montana facility.
- Queens Health System in Hawaii, which has adapted to provide transportation not just within Oahu, but between islands in response to natural disasters.
Through this diverse panel, participants will gain insights into the unique challenges different communities face, as well as proven strategies to improve cancer treatment access and equity. The discussion will cover program details, outcomes data, implementation lessons, and future innovations in this important area of patient-centered care.
