He coached many generations of leaders and fellow executives, effectively transforming traditional Health Systems into modern Learning Organizations. Bill has worked in most departments including Lab, Radiology, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Case Management, and Discharge Planning. Some key project highlights:
— Reduced overall length of stay from 15.7 days down to 8.7 days at large level one academic trauma center
— Reduced Left Without Treatment (LWOT) from +15% to less than 2% at level one trauma center
— Reduced blood transfusions and utilization by 30% which reduced costs to the organization of over $5M annually
— Increased transfer volume of patients coming into health system by 30% year over year opening capacity for the community
Streamlined clinical workflow for transitioning patients from the Emergency Department to Intensive Care to achieve an average of 50 minutes for request to occupy

Bill has designed and implemented multiple command centers around the United States and United Kingdom. These command centers facilitated the standardization of processes, team performance, and capacity management across multiple hospitals in the health systems.

Bill earned his bachelor’s in finance and Economics with his MBA in Management. Bill is a Black Belt in Six Sigma and over 25 years of Lean Practice and coaching. In his spare time Bill is a devoted father to 3 adorable pups.
