Dr. Kann graduated summa cum laude from Old Dominion University and earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University (now Drexel University College of Medicine). He completed General Surgery residency at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Cooper University Hospital and Colon & Rectal Surgery residency at the Ochsner Clinic.
Dr. Kann has held various positions, including Program Director for General Surgery at Cooper University Hospital and Program Director for Colon & Rectal Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2015, he joined Ochsner Medical Center's Department of Colon & Rectal Surgery, where he now serves as Interim Chair, Program Director for the Colon & Rectal Surgery Residency Program, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Queensland-Ochsner Clinical School. He also chairs the Operating Room Block and Scheduling Committee and is Surgical Director for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease program.
