Elizabeth (Liz) Popwell, MPA, FACHE, PMP was appointed Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer for Stony Brook Medicine effective July 7, 2022. In this newly created position, Liz will be responsible for driving all aspects of strategy for Stony Brook Medicine and the Health Science Campus and will identify key initiatives to guide growth and transformation. She will develop a new, comprehensive enterprise-wide strategic plan that will include an integrated approach for planning, budgeting and capital deployment. The execution of these strategies will be driven through both internal initiatives and broad-ranging external partnerships. Her key responsibilities include strategic planning and implementation, transformation and business development. Liz is a nationally recognized thought leader and healthcare executive with more than 28 years of experience in the field.
